Queen’s Jubilee Beacon Lighting

Cottered & Throcking Parish Council are delighted to report that the Jubilee Beacon Lighting Event on the Cottered Recreation Ground was a great success. Many people attended and said how much fun it was and how pleased they were to be able to socialise again. BIG THANKS and congratulations go to Cllr Brian Murchie for the construction, decoration and lighting of the beacon; it went just as planned and lasted exactly the time recommended. Cottered and Throcking are lucky to have somebody capable of producing such a fun and practical item and saving us a lot of money.  In case you are not aware, the base of the beacon is recessed in the ground so that it can be used again and again … already people are asking if it could be lit around Christmas time.
